The BPL sells out

At the local branch of the Boston Public Library (a surprisingly nice place to work, incidentally), on the shelf next to the Shakespeare collection, is the following sign:
Cliffs Notes. ‘For when you haven’t read the book, and your paper is due tomorrow!’
I guess any reading is good reading, but do they have to give up so easily?
ps - does this post make me sound like an old codger or what? And I didn't even mention that the best part about this particular branch is the lack of screaming kids :)
