Or just the end of the beginning?
The blog Calculated Risk has a good post about what the latest financial maneuverings mean for Wall Street and the economy as a whole. While things will continue to get worse for at least a year, and "there is definitely some possibility of a systemic financial collapse," the article ends on a somewhat positive note: "unlike observers that believe this only marks the end of the beginning, I believe there is a chance that these events mark the beginning of the end of the crisis."
