don't mess with the boss monkey

Here is the most entertaining analysis of the debate I've read so far, from a reader on TPM:
I think people really are missing the point about McCain's failure to look at Obama. McCain was afraid of Obama. It was really clear--look at how much McCain blinked in the first half hour. I study monkey behavior--low ranking monkeys don't look at high ranking monkeys. In a physical, instinctive sense, Obama owned McCain tonight and I think the instant polling reflects that.
Not sure I buy it, but what the hell.

Personally I was a little disappointed - the debate was mostly rehashed talking points (which I suppose most debates are) and I thought Obama missed a few chances to score. Namely, he should have ridiculed the notion that sitting down w/'rogue' leaders helps them b/c it gives them credibility. Please, McCain's worried about soft power now? Also, he didn't really close the deal on the economy, but we've got two more debates for that. And, I'm disappointed that Obama has decided he favors missile defense. What a boondoggle - talk about wasting billions of dollars.
